Simulate vehicle or station charge sessions

Designing and building high power DC EV charging stations is no small task. Depending on the type of power modules and controllers used, there can be a significant amount of wiring and commissioning of each unit. Once the process is done, every pistol of every charger needs to be tested. New manufacturers looking into entering the production world tend to underestimate this topic - just plug a car and let it charge for 5 minutes, right? If it works, the charger is good! Well, while this might work for a small series, good luck finding enough cars with empty batteries to charge.

Unless you have your very own drift track around the factory, constantly discharging the test vehicles, the chances are that doing production tests in this way is not very sustainable. Plus, what happens when the car doesn’t seem to be charging? A more controllable and scalable method is needed.

While our EVCC (Electric Vehicle Charge Controller) was originally developed to be installed in vehicles, it is perfectly feasible to use it for test bench systems instead. As a matter of fact, we’ve developed several control modes and applications to make such projects very easy to put together.
