IEC Visit

On 18 June 2026, ADVANTICS hosted representatives from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to our headquarters in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France. The IEC standards provide the technical framework that allows governments to build national quality infrastructure and companies of all sizes to buy and sell consistently safe and reliable products globally.

The IEC visit included in-depth interviews with our leadership and engineering teams, providing an opportunity to discuss the role and impact of international standards on e-mobility and the grid infrastructure. Particular attention was given to the development and adoption of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), as well as the importance of standards in enabling interoperability and safety for the large-scale deployment of next-generation charging infrastructure. Previously, the IEC also covered an article publication with key industry leaders alongside ADVANTICS, Powering the shift to cleaner heavy transport.

Through interviews and demonstrations, our team demonstrated to the IEC the role of high-power charging, power electronics, grid integration and energy storage, and provided insights on how standards come into play for emerging technologies.

The discussions offered valuable insights into how industry is contributing to the development of MCS technology and helping accelerate the transition toward a more electrified and sustainable future.
